National Night Out

My neighborhood held a National Night Out party on our street last night(Aug.2). It was great to have police, fire, and EMT personnel come out in their vehicles and mix and mingle with us and show off their equipment and promote community awareness and crime prevention. As I looked at the fire truck and sat inside the ambulance, I thought of how thankful I am that there are people devoted to such work, even puttting their lives on the line for our protection. It was also good to see neighbors coming out of their homes to chat about how we need to get together in our front yards more often. I agree.
