Judas
I missed the National Geographic Channel's look at the new findings on Judas and I feel a bit behind on the topic. I saw that Slate has the following posted on it.
Also, even a piece of Judas' clothing was found, as reported here.

I saw the NG special and am REALLY looking forward to getting my hands on the eponymous gnostic gospel. From descriptions in the press and on the special, it sounds like an important addition to the gnostic literature, however much weight you give non-canonical texts.
I've been thinking more about Judas recently even before this new "gospel" came out because of my work with ACLU on confidential informants - Judas, of course, was an iconic police snitch. In fact, if you ever read the book "Rush" about a long term undercover drug sting in Tyler, the main snitch in that episode hung himself, too. (I don't remember if that was portrayed in the movie.)
